Along my run: Rabbit Run

Running. It is one of the hardest, yet rewarding physical activities. I run for many reasons but I find that the physical and mental challenge of running just does my body/mind good. I also really enjoy the simplicity of it. You do not need a lot of gear, especially as the weather gets warmer. I have run many, many road races but my favorite runs are on the trail.

Over the weekend I hit the trail for Rabbit Run in Bangor organized by Epic Sports. The weather was phenomenal and the sun felt hot as I along with nearly 200 runners and walkers hit the trail. The 5 mile course was a blast and a definite challenge, especially the hill climb to the finish line.Even better the race supported the Bangor Humane Society. A beautiful day for hitting the trail and supporting my love for our furry loved ones. Below, I am the front of the three runners making the final climb. (Thanks to Jared Palmer for the photo!)

Not everyone is a runner, but I think everyone can be a runner. My best advice is just to lace up your shoes and get out there. Even now I find getting started is the hardest part. Some runs are easy and others are very difficult. Either way I am always glad I started.
